About

Prathamesh P. Deshpande is a computational materials scientist specializing in atomistic and multiscale modeling of resilient polymer-based materials and nanocomposites. His research integrates molecular dynamics, density functional theory, and mechanics-based simulation to uncover nanoscale mechanisms and translate them into engineering-relevant design insights.

He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering–Engineering Mechanics from Michigan Technological University and has contributed to interdisciplinary materials research efforts, including work with the NASA STRI Institute for Ultra-Strong Composites by Computational Design (US-COMP). He currently serves as Adjunct Faculty at COEP Technological University, Pune, and leads AURORA RLab.
